To provide exceptional boarding services by combining our medical background with individualized attention for each and every boarder.
Each and every Lodge ‘camper’ shall receive care and compassion as if they were our own pets.
Although our Lodge staff members would be more than happy to assist you with a tour, drop off, or pick up, please note that our regular hours of operation DO NOT APPLY during the following holidays/events: 4thof July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Easter Eve, Easter, and New Years Day.
Are my pets left alone during these times? Regular services will be performed by Lodge staff members and Technicians to ensure that pets are fed, walked, given medications, monitored for abnormalities, etc.
Fees: $26.00 per night (any size) + tax. Day care rate: $20.00. Additional services / treatments performed are not included with these rates. Fees are subject to change without notice by management. Our rate policies are as followed: charges are applied like a hotel (by night.) Boarding fees do not include services / treatments performed by the doctor or technician(s) on staff. For multiple boarders in the same kennel run, there is a $2.50 per dog discount for those not requiring supervision/separation during feeding. Please note that PAYMENT IN FULL IS REQUIRED BEFORE YOUR PET IS ADMITTED INTO OUR FACILITY.
Vaccinations: Canines entering the Brook Farm Canine Lodge must be current for the following vaccinations or passing titers for which we require proof (if Brook Farm is not regular veterinarian): Rabies Vaccination (copies of Rabies certificates are accepted, but tags cannot be used as proof), DHLLP/DIstempter Parvo /Lepto (often referred to as DA2P+PV), and the Bordetella Vaccination (Kennel Cough). *The Bordetella vaccination must be boostered every six (6) months (exceptions can be made for due dates over six months but not to exceed twelve months for this vaccination, as procedures may vary per animal hospital.) Failure to vaccinate for kennel cough will result in refusal to board for 10-14 days after a booster of the Bordetella vaccination. PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN THOSE VACCINATED FOR KENNEL COUGH CAN STILL CONTRACT A VARIETY OF STRAINS NOT COVERED BY THE BORDETELLA VACCINATION. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR VETERINARY EXPENSES IF THIS IS TO OCCUR. No homeopathic nosodes are allowed for dogs less than one (1) year old. Titering is acceptable for these vaccinations EXCLUDING Rabies. Please note that a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian within one month of the boarding reservation is required for canines in use of these nosodes or titering methods. Please fax, email, or mail proof of vaccinations to us or obtain copies that we may keep for our records. All dogs are subject to a brief examination by the doctor for external parasites and fleas and ticks. If infestation or ticks are found, we will treat at the owner’s expense.
Feeding policies: At our boarding facility, we have the ability to either A) feed your pet their regular food if brought and/or B) feed our kennel maintenance food, Science Diet©, approved by the veterinarian on staff.
Monitoring procedures: During the duration of your pet’s stay, each and every boarder is carefully monitored by Lodge team members and technicians, including Dr. D. Evan Kanouse, DVM. Our staff members monitor defecation, urination, eating and behavioral habits / changes, and /or anxiety while boarding. If deemed necessary by the doctor and / or technician, Brook Farm Veterinary Center holds the right to treat and / or dispense medication to your pet if drastic changes in their medical condition has been noted. Owner holds responsibility to pay services / items rendered AT POSTING of their invoice. Billing arrangements cannot be made for these services. The Canine Lodge utilizes Brook Farm Veterinary Center for veterinary care services, and arrangements cannot be made to treat your pet at their regular hospital instead of utilizing our services. Please note that separation anxiety may occur, which includes aggressiveness towards staff members and / or boarding mates. Additional charges may apply if it is deemed necessary to separate your pets for feeding or even throughout their entire stay.
Item policy: We prefer that we provide all bedding and safe toys for your pet(s). Toys with batteries, squeakers, and/or rawhide bones present choking hazards and will NOT be accepted. Those who bring blankets or dog beds may do so with the understanding that these items may be chewed or soiled. Any personal belongings such as leashes or collars that are left in our facility may, on rare occasions, may be lost or destroyed. Brook Farm Veterinary Center cannot be held liable for the loss of such items.
Exercise Periods: Included with the boarding rate are supervised periods with trained, professional Canine Lodge team members that walk, exercise, and play with your pet. If you wish to request additional play time / outdoor time, additional charges may apply up to $5.00 per fifteen minute session.
Emergencies: If at any time your dog becomes ill or in need of medical attention, you authorize treatment and the dispensing of appropriate medication at the discretion of Dr. Kanouse and his staff. You additionally authorize Brook Farm Veterinary Center to do whatever necessary to provide care for your pet, including veterinary services and emergency visits. Owners will be held liable / responsible for payment of such services rendered.
Pick-Up Procedures: Brook Farm Veterinary Center will not release your pet to any person other than the owner / agent in which dropped off the pet without written authorization. Authorization must be mailed to our office at least three (3) days before drop-off times or brought with the owner at drop off. Email authorization is not acceptable – all authorizations must be hand written or typed with a signature. ALL SUNDAY PICK-UPS are between 4:00pm and 7:00pm ONLY. If an attempt is made to pick up before the designated times on a Sunday, permission will not be granted. The window between the above times has been specially coordinated in order to not interrupt feeding/walking schedules. Disruptions to schedules of such result in a lower-quality care for your pet and his/her fellow boarders. Sunday Pick-Ups must also be prepaid. According to our guidelines, payment in full is required before a dog is released, NOT excluding Sundays. Arrangements can be coordinated with authorized members of management in order to pay at another time. On occasion, we may be able to accommodate pick-up times outside our normal windows. Advance notice must be given and approved by management. In order to staff Lodge members for these times, additional charges may apply.
